Greetings and welcome to another round of Random Thoughts from yours truly. I've got a lot to get to this time out, so let's go ahead and get started. Enjoy.
- I did something last week I haven't done in some time...I went outside...in SHORTS!!! That's right, shorts. The temps got into the upper 60's on Friday and I broke out the shorts, hence the "60's" edition (I ain't talking about the 1960's, folks...I wasn't born until '72). It has been a miserable winter season and I am looking forward to the warmer temperatures. I am sick and tired of snow at this point, and even though we may still see a snowfall or two I don't believe it will be as bad as it has been this winter. I am hoping that by the time my birthday comes up, I'll be able to wear shorts that weekend.
- Speaking of my birthday, mine is coming up on the 9th of April. For the first time in several years, it will be on a weekend, more specifically a Friday. I don't know exactly how I'm gonna celebrate it this year (I am hoping for some good warmer weather this time out), but I'm getting a vague idea in my head what I might be doing. No solid plans have been made and I'm open to doing whatever, so if anybody has ideas let me know.
- The Monday Night Wrestling Wars are back, this time between WWE and TNA. The first head-to-head was this past Monday. TNA Impact seemed to be firing on all cylinders and loaded for bear. It was fast-paced and kept my attention for most of the evening. I thought WWE Raw was lethargic and just dialed it in. It had way too many pre-recorded promos for the upcoming Wrestlemania that had already been shown in weeks past, so my attention ended up more on TNA since it came out with fresh product. I don't know what this upcoming Monday night will hold, only that Stone Cold Steve Austin is guest hosting Raw. I might be doing more channel flipping this Monday than I did last.
- My church home: Crossroads World Christian Center ministered by Pastor Cory Pariseau. BTW, I just posted a bunch of photos from the banquet we held in December on our Facebook group page so those of you on FB can go check those out.
- Regarding my new beginning: I'm still working on stuff in my head and waiting for certain things to shake out, so it might be a while before I talk more about anything related to it. It has been a bit frustrating because I want the good stuff sooner than later but I am looking forward to it when it happens (I'm getting away from the "ifs" because I'm pretty certain it's going to happen...just don't know when yet).
- I went out with a couple of friends last night to Martini Park. We were going to do some club-hopping, but we just stayed at MP last night. The band that played early on were the Trailer Park Ninjas and they were ok. They had an eclectic mix of music including a Hall & Oates tune (I Can't Go For That) which I didn't mind. I was a bit tired while I was there, so I wasn't as into it as I probably could have been, so maybe it was a good thing we stayed where we were. I might be going out next weekend as well, since the weather is starting to improve, though I don't know what I'm doing just yet.
- The Browns have been very busy the past few days here in the offseason. Last week they released QB Derek Anderson (who went off on the fans afterwards) and traded for QB Seneca Wallace from the Seattle Seahawks. They also signed four free agents including QB Jake Delhomme, who Carolina was hesitant to let into free agency. In the latest (just happening today), they traded QB Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for a fullback and draft picks as well as LB Kamerion Wimbley to the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick. That is a lot in just a week's time. At this point I don't know who or what they are planning to do next. It's been an interesting offseason.
- The Westerville Browns Backers will be having their annual banquet this upcoming Saturday, March 20th at Jimmy V's in Westerville. If you want to attend, you can find out more information by going to the official WBB Banquet page. Former RB Greg Pruitt will be the guest of honor. I will not be going to the banquet this year but I am hoping to go to the draft party scheduled for NFL Draft Weekend...the 1st round of the NFL Draft takes place on Thursday evening of that weekend and when I get draft party information I'll put it here.
- Keeping on sports for a bit, how about them Ohio State Buckeyes. The football teams wins the Big Ten title and the Rose Bowl. Now the basketball team gets a share of the Big Ten Title, wins the conference tournament, and gets a #2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA basketball tournament. I haven't paid too much attention to the basketball team and less attention to the football team than in years past, but this has to be a great year to be a Buckeyes fan.
- I didn't know that this was Daylight Savings weekend until...well, yesterday afternoon. I probably would have wondered coming back from the club last night why some of my devices were set ahead an hour had somebody not posted it on Facebook. I hope people are enjoying the extra hour of daylight.
- Song on repeat: "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown. I'm fairly certain that most of you out there have had a song or two that you just can't get out of your head...this song was it for me, as it was on repeat literally in my head for over a week now. It happens to me more often than I really care to admit.
- SLP to the following: Holly, Daryl, Josh, Aunt Susie, Dave, Betsy, Russ, Chad (happy b-day), Kim (happy belated b-day), Damian (happy b-day), Kenda, Jennifer Kupiec (happy b-day), Pastor Cory, Isaiah, Al (Finodi), April, Sonya, Tommy D, and Ernest.
Spring starts in over a week, so I'm hoping the weather improves even more than it has in the past week. I'm more than ready for winter to be over. Next time out I should have a better idea what I'll be doing for my birthday and I'll get that info out there so that those who want to can join me in celebrating. Until next time, folks. Take care and God Bless.
